E-Mail Frequently Asked Questions
What software do I use to check my e-mail?
There are several pieces of software that you can use to check e-mail with. Here is a short list:
- To check your mail via webmail.iexposure.com, you can use a web browser like Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, or Mozilla.
- Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express
- Netscape Communicator's e-mail program
- Eudora mail
- Any other pop3/imap e-mail client.
I have an e-mail address already, can I keep it with your service?
Possibly. If you have a free e-mail account with hotmail.com, yahoo.com, vikesfan.com, etc., then where you get your internet service does not matter. However, if you only have the e-mail address that you recieved with your previous internet service, then you might lose that e-mail account when you cancel your service. If you are unsure, please feel free to give us a call.
How much extra is it if I want more e-mail addresses?
Please consult our prices and promotions page. If you have further questions, give us a call at 612.676.1946.
How long does it take to setup an e-mail account?
E-Mail accounts are setup the day you call (M-F from 8:00-5:00).
How can I get my e-mail address to be myname@myname.com?
The first thing we need to determine is if "myname.com" is already taken. If so, we can register that domain name for you and setup your e-mail address. If "myname.com" is not available, you will need to pick something different or see about buying it from the owner.
Can I select my own username and password?
Yes. By default we use the first letter of your first name followed by your last name to create your username. If you would like something different, you can request it from us. You can also select your own password, provided it meets our requirements.
Can I access my e-mail while I am away from home/work?
Yes. Go to webmail.iexposure.com and login with your username and password. Please bear in mind, if your e-mail program at home/work is set to automatically check your e-mail, once that e-mail is downloaded to your local e-mail client, it will not show up in webmail. If you are going to be out of town, shut your home/work e-mail program down.
Is my account protected against SPAM?
Yes, Internet Exposure does filter SPAM. Unfortunately, there is no way to protect from SPAM 100%. We are always working to improve all our services.
Is my account protected agains viruses?
Not yet. We are working on implementing some software that can protect your e-mail from viruses. It is always recommended that you run your own Anti-virus software on your computer. There are three main companies that offer it: Symantec - www.norton.com, McAfee - www.mcafee.com, and TrendMicro - www.antivirus.com. As a side note, don't open an attachment if you are not expecting it! Also, make sure you update your anti-virus software once each month at the least.
I lost my password, or I want to change it, what do I do?
You will need to call us for assistance at 612.676.1946.
